Brendan Fraser gets emotional

Brendan Fraser gets emotional by the phenomenal commendation in Venice for 'The Whale'.

One of the most anticipated releases of 2022 is 'The Whale', Darren Aronofsky's new project starring an unrecognizable Brendan Fraser. The film has celebrated its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival and had a great reception that moved even Fraser himself.

The film had its world premiere last Sunday at the Venice International Film Festival and the result was absolutely triumphant. Once the screening was over, the audience stood up and gave him a seven-minute ovation.

Brendan Fraser, the absolute protagonist of the film, received the visibly moved applause when Aronofsky gave him a hug to celebrate the extraordinary moment. Undoubtedly, a great achievement for the actor in which is his return through the big door to the cinema in a leading role (the last one was in 2013 with 'Desperate escape').

The celebrated film is a psychological drama about an overweight English teacher (Fraser) trying to reconnect with his 17-year-old daughter. A story of redemption whose cast is completed by Sadie Sink ('Stranger Things'), Samantha Morton ('The Walking Dead'), Hong Chau ('Watchmen') and Ty Simpkins ('Iron Man 3').

The first critics about the film are unanimous regarding Fraser's spectacular performance, who defines his role as "the greatest challenge" of his career and as "the most heroic man he has ever played because his superpower is to look for the good in others and bring it to light".

The great reception of the film in Venice only makes us more eager to see the latest collaboration between Aronofsky and Fraser, produced by A24.
