Jane Fonda reveals she has cancer The actress will undergo chemotherapy treatment but assures that this will not "interfere with my climate activism"

Hodgkin's, a type of cancer that affects the lymphatic system. "It is a very treatable cancer, 80% of people survive, so I feel very lucky," she said in a message on her Instagram account, where she shared the news with her followers. 

Fonda has explained that she has already started chemotherapy, a treatment that she will receive for six months, and has insisted that she will not put aside her activism. "Believe me, I will not let any of this interfere with my climate activism," she said. 

"Cancer is a teacher and I am paying attention to the lessons it will teach me," adds the actress in her message.

 In addition, the actress has dedicated a part of her text to denouncing the health situation in the United States. I am also lucky because I have health insurance and access to the best doctors and treatments. I know, and it is painful, that I am privileged in this. Almost every family in America has had to deal with cancer at some point and too many don't have access to the quality healthcare that I'm getting and that's not right." 

In this same sense, she has taken advantage of her message to recall that the midterm elections will be held in the United States in November, which she defines as "more than transcendental." 

In addition to being known for her roles in numerous movies and series, Fonda has recently gained attention for participating in protests for action against the climate crisis. The actress has been arrested several times for attending demonstrations in Washington.
