Graham Potter schedules Reece James injury updates as England raises concerns

Reece James limped during the second half of Tuesday night's Champions League match between Chelsea and AC Milan, and manager Graham Potter acknowledges he won't know the full nature of the injury for another 48 hours. And the defender is currently a question mark for England's World Cup team. At the San Siro, Chelsea put on an outstanding performance to defeat their opponent 2-0.

James has always been among the top players for his squad in recent years, and he is off to a strong start this year. When the Blues and Wolves squared off in a Premier League match on Saturday, the England international was only deemed fit enough to sit on the bench.

He was back in the starting lineup for Tuesday's match against Milan, and when he pushed forward and tried to make things happen, he caused a lot of issues for the home defence. However, he was ejected at the hour mark after landing forcefully on his right leg.

The 22-year-old's chance to take his spot in the Three Lions squad is now in doubt with less than six weeks till the start of the World Cup. For England's last four games, Gareth Southgate has picked James to the starting lineup, showing his admiration for the player. In light of this, the manager will be anxious to include him in his initial team when he is named next Thursday.
