Inter goalkeeper Onana is scheduled to make his Serie A debut.

Inter goalkeeper Onana is scheduled to make his Serie A debut against Sassuolo.

Andre Onana will make his Serie A debut for the Nerazzurri today against Sassuolo after Simone Inzaghi reportedly selected him for the match. This is according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The Serie A giants, who have swapped their two goal scorers in the league and cup this season, are making a significant move.

While Onana has appeared in all three of the Champions League group stage matches against Bayern Munich, Viktoria Plzen, and Barcelona, Handanovic has started each Serie A game thus far.

The hierarchy may now alter, as Handanovic will sit out the match against Sassuolo and Onana will start in goal, reports Gazzetta.

The Nerazzurri are in desperate need of a victory after losing their previous two Serie A games before defeating Barcelona on Tuesday in the Champions League.

In three appearances in Europe, Onana has conceded two goals, whereas Handanovic has conceded 13 goals in eight Serie A games.

Onana joined Inter as a free agent in the summer and agreed to a deal that would last until 2027.
