Marcus Rashford dropped by Manchester United for the game against Wolves due to disciplinary reasons.

Rashford had been ruled out of the contest, according to United's manager Erik ten Hag revealed in a pre-match television interview.

The 25-year-old has been in excellent form this season at the club level, scoring in United's previous two games. At the World Cup, when Gareth Southgate's team advanced to the quarterfinals, Rashford also scored three goals for England.

However, United's starting lineup on Saturday does not include the Englishman. When questioned about his selection prior to the game by BT Sport, Ten Hag only added that it was 'our rules'.

Wolves will strive to escape the relegation zone, while United will look to continue their streak of four straight victories across all competitions.

Luke Shaw is back at full-back after Marcus Rashford was benched for "internal discipline" in the New Year's Eve match. On New Year's Eve, Manchester United will travel to Wolves in an effort to cap off a miserable 2022.

Due to a multitude of off-field problems, including Glazer's ownership and Cristiano Ronaldo's contentious departure, the Red Devils were unable to end their trophy drought this season. Despite being one point behind fourth-placed Tottenham and having one fewer game, the team has reason to believe that 2023 will be better under Erik ten Hag.

Wolves, who rose from the bottom of the standings with a thrilling 2-1 comeback victory over Everton, will be the opponent for United as they attempt to make it three straight Premier League victories.
