Manchester United is considering signing Marcel Sabitzer from Bayern Munich before tonight's transfer deadline because Christian Eriksen is injured at Old Trafford.

Following Florian Plettenberg's revelation that both Manchester United and Chelsea are interested in signing Sabitzer, the two clubs are now moving forward in their negotiations with Bayern. Discussions about the deal structure are also currently taking place for the 28-year-old in a raid on Deadline Day. According to the claims, Manchester United may yet complete a deal before the transfer window closes. A prospective move for Sabitzer currently supports this assertion.

Sabitzer, a 28-year-old Austrian international who is desperate for more gameplay, has emerged as a target for the Red Devils as they look to strengthen their midfield following Christian Eriksen's injury that will keep him out for the next three months.

Sabitzer would be a wonderful addition to Erik ten Hag's midfield with Casemiro, Scott McTominay, Fred, and Bruno Fernandes, but there isn't much time left before the transfer window closes to complete the transaction.

Since joining Bayern in 2021, Sabitzer has appeared in 54 games, scoring twice while battling for a spot in the first team on a regular basis. In the Bundesliga past season, Sabitzer only made eight starters and made 17 substitute appearances while scoring one goal and assisting one other. Between 2014 and 2021, he established himself at RB Leipzig with a number of standout performances.

He played in 229 games for the Red Bull-owned team, scoring 52 goals along the way, before earning a £14 million transfer to Bayern.
