The Mason Greenwood who was detained in January 2022 on allegations of abusing and attempting to rape his ex-partner has now been exonerated of all charges.
Mason Greenwood, a football player for Manchester United, has had all allegations of attempted rape, abuse, and coercive and controlling behaviour against him withdrawn by the Greater Manchester Police on Thursday.
Greenwood, 21, was detained in January 2022 after his ex-partner shared a number of images and videos on social media in which she was seen with injuries the footballer is said to have caused.
The player, who had been a member of United since he was six years old, suspended him, and he has not played football since January 22, 2022. In addition, he was dropped from the video game FIFA 22 and lost a number of advertising contracts, including one with the sportswear brand Nike.

According to a representative for the prosecution, the dismissal of the charges against the football player was caused by "the withdrawal of a vital witness" and recently found information that showed there was no "genuine chance of guilt."
