The legendary actor Dick Van Dyke, who has appeared in films like "Mary Poppins" and "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," suffered minor injuries when his Lexus collided with a fence in Malibu after he lost control of the vehicle, according to TMZ.

According to reports, the 97-year-old actor's car slipped on the slick road. The report indicates that the seasoned actor sustained a bleeding nose and mouth as well as a potential concussion as a result of the accident.

When the police arrived on the scene of the collision, they discovered the actor driving his own Lexus LS 500 and receiving immediate medical attention from paramedics. In addition, according to TMZ, Van Dyke declined medical treatment at a hospital and chose to be taken home by a friend who picked him up at the scene of the collision.

The star of "The Dick Van Dyke Show" has apparently been requested to retake a driving test after police reportedly submitted paperwork to the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). The accident was not a result of drinking or drug use, according to the authorities.

Van Dyke was involved in another serious incident and was saved from a burning Jaguar on a Los Angeles highway nearly a decade before this car catastrophe. It appears that the actor was not aware that the car was on fire when he was taken out of it. At the time of the event, the actor told TMZ, "It just started making a noise, and at first I thought it had a puncture, then it started burning, and then it burned to a char.

Van Dyke added that he was able to leave the vehicle unscathed and that he was still alive "because of a firefighter, a nurse, and a police officer passing by. "Someone is taking care of me," He said more than a week ago.
