On the 29th day of the Premier League, they defeated Everton 2-0 at Old Trafford.

While Jordan Pickford's strong performance kept the score closer than it otherwise may have been, Erik ten Hag's team was strong throughout the entire 90 minutes, with a lot of situations being created primarily in the first stage.

They actually outperformed it in the first 45 minutes. In Front of the goalkeeper,  Marcus Rashford had a one-on-one opportunity and he won. Following Antony's outside shot hitting the post, Aaron Wan-Bissaka was the next player to miss the goal.

The Toffees managed to react, and after some solid teamwork, Ellis Simms wasted his opportunity with a cross shot that went just inside the right post. Red Devils were once again in charge, and Bruno Fernandes attempted an outside shot but it missed the mark. Before Scott McTominay broke the tie with a shot to beat Pickford at the near post due to a superb assist from Jadon Sancho. Towards the end of the game, Antony attempted a place shot that required the goalkeeper on the right post to make a good save. United slightly dropped their energy but they never lost control of the situation. After Marcel Sabitzer's cross, he had the chance to double the lead with a header from Bruno, but Pickford again blocked. The next attempt came from Rashford, who missed the crossbar.

Rashford, who positioned himself in the centre for the appearance of Anthony Martial, who did not pardon the goalkeeper and outlined one side for another. however, capitalised on a long ball from Lisandro Martnez that led to a crude error by Séamus Coleman.

Ten Hag called Christian Eriksen to the field with the victory already in hand. Eriksen, who had not played in four months, was greeted with applause from the crowd despite suffering from a headache as a result of Rashford's withdrawal due to a muscular injury that raised the alarms.

In order to maintain their third-place standing with 56 points, Manchester United earned their second consecutive victory. This puts them ahead of Nottingham Forest in the standings and into Thursday's match for the first leg of the Europa League quarterfinals against Sevilla.
