The 46-year-old chef and 'MasterChef Australia' presenter's Jock Zonfrillo lifeless body was discovered inside his home in Melbourne, Australia, at around 2 a.m. (local time).
The other chefs from around the world who were with him on set confirmed his death through their social media accounts, Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsey expressed their "shock" at the presenter's passing.
In addition, Zonfrillo's family requested privacy to deal with this difficult time by confirming the death in a statement on his social media account. "We implore you to allow us to grieve in private as we find a way to navigate through this and find a space on the other side to grieve their irreplaceable husband, father, brother, son, and friend" the family requested in a post.
On the other hand, the show "MasterChef Australia," which started a new season on Monday, said they are "deeply surprised and saddened by the sudden loss."
"Jock was known to Australians as a chef, best-selling author, philanthropist and MasterChef judge, but he will be best remembered as a loving father, husband, brother and son," they posted on their social media account account.
According to Australian authorities, the chef's body was discovered at 2 a.m. inside a home on Lygon Street in the Carlton area, according to the British news source Telegraph. The cause of death has not yet been determined.
