According to sources close to the Qatari businessman, Sheikh Jassim is still awaiting word on the outcome of his fifth and final bid for Manchester United.
Recent reports from Qatar said that Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the founder of Ineos, had lost out to the Sheikh's proposal, which is for 100% of the club.
The Sheikh Jassim camp, however, dismissed the reports as mere rumours and insisted that they are still in a "holding pattern." They anticipate that the United Board will convene and evaluate both bids as the next step.
