Taylor Swift thrilled fans at her final "Eras Tour" concert in Los Angeles by making a huge announcement that had been the subject of speculation for weeks. During the surprise song segment of the show, Swift confirmed that she will be re-recording her mega-hit 2014 album "1989." The singer expressed her gratitude to her fans for supporting her re-recording project and then unveiled the album art for "1989 (Taylor's Version)" on the large video screen, confirming an October release date.

In a post on Instagram, Swift shared her excitement about the upcoming album and revealed that it has been her favorite re-record so far. She explained that the album will include five previously unreleased tracks, which she referred to as "From the Vault" songs. Swift expressed her disbelief that these incredible tracks were initially left off the original album.

"1989" is widely considered Swift's most popular album and marked her transition from country-pop to full pop music. It included chart-topping hits like "Shake it Off," "Bad Blood," and "Blank Space." The album received 10 Grammy nominations and won three awards, including Album of the Year.

Ever since her former label sold her master recordings, Swift has been determined to regain control of her music by re-recording her first six studio albums. She has already released "Taylor's Version" albums for "Red," "Speak Now," and "Fearless." Following "1989 (Taylor's Version)," she plans to re-record her 2018 album "Reputation" and her self-titled debut album "Taylor Swift."

Fans can expect even more excitement from Swift as she kicks off the international leg of her "Eras Tour" on August 24 in Mexico City. The highly anticipated "1989 (Taylor's Version)" is set to be released on October 27.
