Taylor Swift has finally announced her long-awaited Canadian tour dates, putting an end to speculation that she had snubbed the country. The superstar will be performing six shows in Toronto as part of her wildly successful Eras World Tour. The news comes as a relief to Canadian Swifties, who have been eagerly awaiting the chance to see their idol in concert.
The tour dates are scheduled for November 2024, and tickets will be available for purchase next week. Swift took to social media to share the exciting news, revealing that she will also be adding new US stops in New Orleans, Miami, and Indianapolis.
"I'm thrilled to announce that it's not the end of an era," Swift wrote in her announcement. This will be her first Canadian tour since 2018 and marks a milestone in her career, as she will be the first artist ever to perform a six-show stint at Toronto's Rogers Centre.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau even got in on the action, appealing to Swift on social media to bring her tour to Canada. In July, he tweeted, "I know places in Canada would love to have you. So, don't make it another cruel summer. We hope to see you soon."
Swift's Eras Tour has already been breaking records, with data tracker Pollstar projecting that she could earn a staggering $1 billion in ticket sales from over 100 dates. If this projection holds true, Swift's tour would become the highest-grossing of all time, surpassing Elton John's Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.
