Tracey previously revealed Denise's medical condition in an emotional post on the same platform. "I ask that you offer support and prayers to me and my sister, and my only immediate family Denise Dowse," she wrote on August 9. "She is in hospital in a coma caused by a virulent form of meningitis. Her doctors do not know when she will come out of the coma as it was not medically induced." "She is a vibrant actress and director who must have many years ahead of her. Thoughts, prayers and support are greatly appreciated."

Who was Denise 

Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, the actress has a long history of television credits including a recurring role on Beverly Hills, 90210 where she played Vice Principal Yvonne Teasley. Later, she played another vice principal, but this time on the sitcom California Dreams, in another recurring role.

Her comedic guest appearances include Seinfeld, Full House, Murphy Brown, Step by Step, Sister, Sister, Moesha, Girlfriends, and most recently a recurring role on Insecure where she played Dr. Rhonda Pine from 2017 to 2020. Her numerous other credits include appearances on such series as Touched by an Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Chicago Hope, ER, The West Wing, Judging Amy, Nip/Tuck, Charmed, Gilmore Girls, Everwood, House, and Castle.

On the big screen, she worked alongside Samuel L. Jackson in Coach Carter and Jamie Foxx in the Ray Charles biopic.
