The British prime minister, Liz Truss, steps down. Six weeks have passed since Truss took office. Demands for her resignation from Conservative Party deputies have gotten louder in recent hours.

In response to mounting pressure, British Prime Minister Liz Truss eventually announced her resignation on Thursday in a brief address outside 10 Downing Street. Truss has not been able to get through the difficulty brought on by the economic plan disaster from which she was obliged to withdraw. As the days went on, more and more Conservative Party lawmakers began to call for her resignation.

On Thursday, Truss met with Graham Brady, the chairman of the 1922 Committee, to discuss the free integration of the "Tories" deputies into the government. If at least 15% of the deputies submit a letter of loss of confidence, this body has the authority to file a motion of censure against the party leader.

Jake Berry, the party's leader, and Therese Coffey, the deputy prime minister, have reportedly also met in the official residence, according to the BBC.

In recent days, a number of conservative deputies have demanded her resignation, and some of them allegedly sent Brady letters of loss of confidence. The most recent came from Hartlepool-elected Jill Mortimer, who said on her Facebook page that she had no choice but to write Sir Graham Brady a letter expressing her lack of trust in the prime minister due to the situation's development during the day.

The prime minister acknowledged that Wednesday was a "challenging day" with the chaotic events in Parliament and Braverman's departure, but she has stated that she is focused on delivering with the public, according to a representative for Truss this morning.

The spokesman told reporters, "The prime minister acknowledges that yesterday was a challenging day and acknowledges that citizens want the government to focus less on politics and more on executing its agenda.
