Emma Corrin wants the Oscars to add gender-neutral award categories.

Emma Corrin wants gender-neutral categories to be included to award shows like the Oscars and BAFTAs.

In a recent interview, the 26-year-old Crown star maintained that the awards are not "inclusive enough" as they are. She said that she believes the move will help everyone feel "appreciated and represented."

Better representation in roles in the entertainment business is required to create an urgency for the issue to be addressed.

When asked if there would be gender-neutral categories at big award events, Emma responded to the BBC's Today programme: "I'm hoping for a future in which that happens. At the moment, I don't believe the categories are broad enough. The goal is for everyone to feel respected and represented."

Since 2021, Emma has openly revealed her gender identity journey on social media and publicly identifies as non-binary.

Emma, who won a Golden Globe for Best Actress for her portrayal of Princess Diana in the fourth season of the popular Netflix drama, is also appearing in the critically acclaimed movies My Policeman and Lady Chatterley's Lover this year.

Emma is presently preparing for her role as Orlando, a character in Virginia Woolf's 1928 novel, which will be performed on stage in a gender identity-focused adaptation.
