IRENE CARA, A POP STAR SINGER BEST KNOWN FOR FAME AND FLASHDANCE, DIES AT AGE 63.

This Saturday, Irene Cara, 63, passed away. The 80s musical and film star was found unresponsive at her Florida home for an undetermined reason.

This morning, her publicist, Judith A. Moose, broke the terrible news via a message on the singer's social media accounts. She posted on the official Twitter account, "I am deeply saddened to announce the passing of Irene Cara on behalf of her family.

The publicist has requested respect for her family through these trying times of loss and promised that the cause of death "will be revealed when information is available."

The suddenness of her death stunned the entertainment industry because she had been connected to him through the theatre since she was very young. Irene Cara, who was born on March 18, 1959, appeared in a musical on Broadway when she was just 5 years old. She made her first Christmas album when she was only eight years old.

One of her most notable accomplishments is the 1983 Oscar she received for the song Flashdance. What an emotion and for that, she also received a Golden Globe. On the North American sales charts, it ranked first for six weeks. Additionally, in June 1983, Fame ranked first on the LOS40 list.

After releasing three studio albums and taking part in numerous soundtracks, she announced her retirement from the entertainment industry a decade later, in the 1990s. She came back in 2001 and collaborated with DJ Bobo to create a dance version of What a feeling, another big smash in Europe. The next year, she created her own ensemble, Hot Caramel, with whom she recorded the album Irene Cara Presents Hot Caramel and remained active up until her passing.
