Dua Lipa, a 27-year-old British musician, received Albanian citizenship this past weekend. Although the musician was born and grown in London (United Kingdom), her parents were Kosovar Albanian, and Dua Lipa has always placed a high value on her Kosovar Albanian heritage. She received the official papers recognising her as an Albanian citizen from Bajram Begaj, the country's president.

In addition, the mayor made a statement about her concert tonight in Albania to commemorate the 110th anniversary of Albania's independence.
