Former Strictly Come Dancing Judge And Ballroom Dancer Len Goodman Dies at 78

Len Goodman, a longtime "Strictly Come Dancing" and "Dancing With the Stars" judge, has passed away. He was 78.


On Monday, Goodman's manager informed the BBC of his passing. The judge and ballroom dancer from the United Kingdom passed away on April 22 at a hospice in Kent with his family by his side. He had been diagnosed with bone cancer.


Len Goodman's agent Jackie Gill released a statement saying, "It is with great sadness that I announce that Len Goodman has passed away peacefully, aged 78." He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be sadly missed by his loved ones, friends, and everyone who knew him.


Goodman served as the chief judge of the well-known BBC dancing competition "Strictly Come Dancing" from its inception in 2004 until 2016. He also participated as a judge on the ABC adaptation's "Dancing With the Stars" from its premiere in 2005 until 2022.
